As we feel the freshness in the air, and signs of colour change in the trees, what can the changing seasons teach us?

Autumn is nature’s way of taking a deep breath, in and out. As we breathe out with the natural world, we too can release the stresses we no longer have to carry. We see the sky painted in soft tones of blue, reflecting a calmness, and inviting us to do the same. Autumn is a season of release, where the weight of past issues can fall away, and, like the leaves, drift down towards the earth.

In this season of transformation there is a calm beauty in in the act of simply letting go. The past, like the fallen leaves, can nourish the soil for future growth, and can make space for new beginnings. Autumn, with all its magnificent colour change, reminds us that there is beauty in change, and in the natural cycle of holding on and letting go. And of the peace that follows when we finally release that which no longer serves us, and take that one small hope-filled step into our future, calm, confident and in control.
